A Little Maintenance Goes Along Way - No matter what brand or type of window you purchase, keeping the window’s frames, glass and screens clean will ensure long life and function. I recommend the use of LPS-2, an oil based lubricant or an all silicone lubricant for all window armature and mechanism lubrication purposes. Recently I also discovered Boeing T-9. It is available at West Marine on Sand Island Road. Yes, it is made by Boeing the aircraft folks. It is their waterproof lubricant. Works on all kinds of metal parts on oceanside locations.Vinyl window owners should consider applying Armorall or Prolong vinyl cleaner and protectant on outside surfaces periodically to protect against natural surface weathering.
